So Easter is over and I have some things to write about again! First of all I want to tell you about some things I fell in love with over the course of the last weeks. Let’s have some recommendations!
BOOKS:
D.Gray-Man
This manga. Not one of the very latest, but I discovered it just some time ago. But it was not until now I totally got into it. It’s not only a huuuuge inspiration for Versus, but also an amazingly creative story (that’s pretty fucked up, too by the way) with much much material damage, mixing up Horror, Action, Fantasy and Comedy. And the reason this is so good: The characters are absolutely gorgeous. They make the story not only vivid but also quite likable although it’s a slightly apocalyptic end time story. And that requires quite some craft …

ART:
Jam
Not the thing you put on your bread for breakfast, but an artist on DeviantArt. After comment-raping his whole gallery because it is filled with too much awesome, he even started replying and watching me and commenting on my sorry pictures. Yes, indeed. He even is nice. Seriously, I don’t know how to resist this guy.

MUSIC:
Jenny Owen Youngs
Heartbroken girls and boys from everywhere, I have the perfect cure for you. Well, maybe not the cure but actually something that’s worth quite a lot: Some solace.
I’ve known Jenny since her debut “Batten the Hatches”, so I didn’t really got to love her the past weeks but way before, but I have her mentioned here because you can’t seem to mention her enough and because her 3rd album, “An Unwavering Band of Light” dropped some weeks ago. And I’m pretty much in love with that one. It’s defenitely Jennys most energetic album so far.

What makes Jenny so great is the ways she instantly feels like a good friend when you turn on her songs. They’re simply touching, especially in the silent moments. They’re the thing you want to have when you’re heartbroken and lying on your bed and cuddling with something that’s not your friend. Because Jenny can sing about (failed) love like nobody else can. Which is also true for the more upbeat songs. Because she doesn’t only sing about hearbreak. Her upbeat songs have something to them that makes you pretty happy, not always being hopefull but in some ways happy go lucky. Like a good friend that says: “Come on, let’s have fun anyways!”
You can check out the streaming of “An Unwavering Band of Light” right here. It’s worth it, trust me. First 4 songs are absolutely stunning and the rest is just nearly as great. So get listening!

OK, that was my recommendation tirade for now. Easter holidays are slowly getting to and end and school is coming again. I must admit, I didn’t do as much Artwork as I wanted to do but I really spent some time relaxing and doing nothing, which was ver refreshing. When school starts, I probably will spent some time on improving again, there may be some doodles ;)
Another thing: As it’s getting warmer and sunnier day by day, my Spring Mixtape get’s closer and closer to be finished. It’s not named yet, but I have a song base of around 10 songs that are absolutely amazing. I’m exited for it already! (although it’s April now ->Winter strikes again)
I think that’s that for now. As I said, school starts again so the next time will be quieter again. But since I wrote a research paper and every kind of homework feels just plain easy after doing something like that, there may even be some time to complete some things. There are some presents though and I won’t be posting them here, because they’re presents and therefore shall be private.
I wish you all the best! Have a nice time and enjoy the sun!
